Welcome to Venni! This Privacy Policy explains how Fidesbanc(M) Sdn Bhd ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in relation to our website, mobile applications (if any), and services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service ("Users").

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

a. Information from Your Sign-In Provider:

You sign in to Venni with a third-party identity provider (currently Google). When you sign in, we receive information from that provider such as your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive or store your provider account password — authentication is handled entirely by the provider.

b. Information You Provide Directly:

Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional information for your profile, such as a username, profile picture, biography, phone number, sex, date of birth, timezone, and social media links.
Profile Photos: You may upload a small number of photos to your profile (for example an event invitation or a payment QR code) along with an optional caption. These are visible to any signed-in user who views your profile, so only upload images you are comfortable sharing with other members — a payment QR code, for instance, may reveal your name and account details to anyone who views it. You can delete a photo from your profile at any time.
Event Content: We collect information you provide when you create, join, or participate in events. This includes details about the event (e.g., name, location, date, time, notes, attachments), your sign-up status (confirmed, waitlisted, guests), and personal notes you keep about past events.
Communications: If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

c. Information We Collect Automatically When You Use the Service:

Usage Data: We may collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
Location Information: If you attach a venue to an event using our location search, we store that venue's details (such as its name, address, and map coordinates) as part of the event. We do not track your device's location.
Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service and hold certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service. Examples of cookies we use:
- Session Cookies: We use Session Cookies to keep you signed in and operate our Service.
- Preference Cookies: We use Preference Cookies to remember your preferences and various settings (such as your theme choice).
- Security Cookies: We use Security Cookies for security purposes.

To generate link previews when an event link is shared (see Section 3).

To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service.
To monitor the usage of our Service and detect, prevent, and address technical issues.
To enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.
For legal compliance, such as responding to a subpoena or court order.

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following situations:

With Other Users:
- Your profile information (username, profile picture, biography, social links, and any profile photos you upload) may be visible to other signed-in users, especially when you organize or join events. Profile pages, including profile photos, are not viewable by signed-out visitors. We do not show your email address to other users.
- When you participate in an event, other participants and the organizer may see your username, profile picture, guest count, and sign-up status.
- If you organize an event, your username appears in the event's web address for public events, and your username and profile picture may appear on the event page and in link previews.
In Link Previews: When an event link is shared in a chat or social app, that app may display a preview image generated by us containing the event's name, date, time, venue, attendance count, and the organizer's profile picture. For private events, the preview is only reachable through the event's unguessable link.
With Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work (e.g., cloud hosting, data analysis, email delivery, customer service). These service providers are obligated not to disclose or use your information for any other purpose. Our Service is hosted on Google Cloud Platform.
For Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
With Affiliates: We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. Affiliates include our parent company and any subsidiaries, joint venture partners, or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us.
For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if we are required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency). We may also disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation;
- Protect and defend the rights or property of Venni;
- Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service;

We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, such as using secure server environments and limiting access to personal data. Because you sign in with a third-party provider, we never store account passwords. However, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Private events are protected by unguessable links. Anyone who has a private event's link can view that event, so participants should only share the link with people they intend to invite.

5. Data Retention

We will retain your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. Note that some information may remain in our records after deletion of your account in an aggregated or anonymized form, or as required by law.

Our Service is operated from Malaysia and hosted on cloud infrastructure that may be located in other countries. Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us (for example, venue map links or other users' social media profiles).
